The Air Lift 1000 rear air spring kit is the easiest, most value added upgrade for the time, cost and effort involved. Took a whopping 30 minutes to completely install on my VW Vanagon. I elected to have each bag independently pressurized so I could adjust each side for load and balance.
Pros: Easy to install. Immediate improvement in handling! Less rear end sag, less lean in turns, less swervy in cross winds.
Cons: (Minor) As these are small sized air bags, they are a little sensitive when adjusting air pressure. Go easy on the air when inflating/deflating to get the right pressure. That's it.
My vehicle: 1981 VW Vanagon L Westfalia Camper.
